‘Vanya and Sonia’ extended one week at Mark Taper Forum
The Los Angeles premiere engagement of Christopher Durang’s Tony Award-winning play “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” has been extended by one week at the Mark Taper Forum. The production, which stars Christine Ebersole, will run through March 16.
Durang’s play is directed by David Hyde Pierce, who acted in the New York production. Center Theatre Group’s staging, which began performances on Jan. 29, features Ebersole in the role of a movie star (originated by Sigourney Weaver) who descends upon her middle-age siblings at the family home in Pennsylvania.
