Stephen Gaghan, Minnie Mortimer list Brentwood home for sale
Stephen Gaghan, the Oscar writing screenwriter, and his wife, fashion designer Minnie Mortimer, have put their Brentwood home up for sale at $4.995 million.
Set behind gates and stone columns, the shingle-clad house looks like it could be set in Nantucket. The 5,267 square feet of living space features wood-beam ceilings, a painted wood-paneled den/library, a corner sunroom, a media room, five bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms. There’s a balcony off the master suite.
A covered brick patio extends the length of the back of the house and connects to the balcony area above by an exterior stairwell.
The city-, mountain- and ocean-view lot of more than an acre contains a guesthouse. The swimming pool and spa are surrounded by brick decking.
Moorish Revival style in the Hollywood Hills
Gaghan won an Oscar for the screenplay for “Traffic” (2000). He also has an Emmy for co-writing an episode of “NYPD Blue” (1997). His other screenwriting credits include the 2005 films “Havoc” and “Syriana,” and “Rules of Engagement” (2000).
Mortimer has a line of women’s sportswear.
The property previously sold in 2009 for $4.5 million, public records show.
Richard Stearns of Partners Trust is the listing agent.
