Former Chargers coach Norv Turner moves on from Mission Beach condo

Former San Diego Chargers head coach Norv Turner has passed a San Diego condominium on to a new owner, selling the three-bedroom home in the Mission Beach area for $1.35 million.

Occupying the top floor of a beachfront building, the single-floor condo has a kitchen with a breakfast bar, family and dining rooms and three bathrooms. A private elevator services the roughly 1,500-square-foot unit.

Two beach-facing decks invite outdoor entertaining, as does a rooftop patio. Views take in the ocean, sandy beaches and the mouth of Mission Bay.

A detached two-car garage is also included with the property.

Turner bought the property four years ago for $1.2 million, records show. He had asked as much as $1.549 million for the unit.

Maxine Gellens of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties was the listing agent. Gellens also represented the buyer in the sale, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

Turner, 64, piloted the Chargers to a 56-40 record during his tenure as coach, winning the AFC West Division in each of his first three seasons. He was relieved from his post in 2013 after failing to reach the playoffs from 2010 to 2012.

He entered the 2016 season as the offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings, but abruptly resigned from the position earlier this month.
