Mel Gibson seeks $1.75 million for cottage and acreage in Agoura Hills
A rural property owned by actor-director Mel Gibson is on the market in Agoura Hills for $1.75 million.
The property is at the ended of a gated road and near the Holy Family Church, a private chapel affiliated with a Gibson-funded nonprofit foundation. The roughly 87-acre setting includes mature oaks, a small cottage, two additional structures and a concrete parking lot.
The cottage, built in 1921, has been updated and features wood floors, recessed lighting and a remodeled kitchen and bathroom. There is one bedroom in 943 square feet of space as well as a large utility/laundry room.
A concrete pavilion with a fireplace made of river rock extends the living space. Paved and unpaved walkways wind through the grounds.
The property last changed hands in 2007 for $2.15 million, property records show.
Joyce Blackburn of Realty Executives holds the listing.
Gibson, 60, has credits that include the “Mad Max” and “Lethal Weapon” films, as well as “The Expendables 3.” He won a pair of Oscars for the 1995 epic “Braveheart.”
This year, he starred in the action-thriller “Blood Father” and directed the historical war drama “Hacksaw Ridge.”
