Fresh off his third Cy Young Award, pitcher Max Scherzer already has something new to celebrate.

The Washington Nationals ace has sold his penthouse condominium in Scottsdale, Ariz., for $1.7 million after relisting the contemporary pad in September.

The corner unit sits atop the Optima Camelview Village building and features floor-to-ceiling windows that take full advantage of the views.

Lined with tile, the open floor plan includes a living room, dining area and chef’s kitchen outfitted with an oversized island. Coffered ceilings hang overhead, and smart-home technology controls the lighting, thermostats and motorized shades.

In the spacious master suite are two walk-in closets and a bathroom accented with wood. The approximately 3,300-square-foot condo has three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms in all. Another bedroom was used as an office.

Sliding glass doors lead out to four private balconies that take in the surrounding city and mountains.

Records show that Scherzer bought the penthouse for $1.39 million in 2013. He had the property on the market last year for around $2 million, but in September relisted the unit with a price of $1.799 million.

Thuy Pham of Home America Realty held the listing. Daniel Williams of Home America Realty represented the buyer.

A Missouri native, Scherzer, 33, is a five-time all-star and has racked up 141 wins and 2,149 strikeouts during his MLB career. Last season, he tied the single-game strikeout record, fanning 20 batters in nine innings.
