Songwriter Josh Alexander puts his loft-style home in Venice up for sale
Songwriter and music producer Josh Alexander, who has collaborated with such artists as JoJo, Cee Lo Green and Demi Lovato, has put his live-work space in Venice up for sale at $2.195 million.
Designed by Mark Mack and completed in 2003, the tri-level home has an industrial vibe with concrete block walls, vaulted ceilings and unfinished beams. A staircase framed in wood and painted steel connects each floor.
Making the most of the open-plan design, a lower-level living area has a roll-up wall that opens to a patio. In other parts of the home, shoji screen doors and windows can be moved to either divide or open common spaces.
Living and dining rooms, a center-island kitchen, two bedrooms and 2.25 bathrooms lie within the 2,661 square feet of interiors. The third-floor master suite is naturally lit by a set of solar tubes.
A rooftop deck with city light, mountain and marina views completes the setting.
Kerry Ann Sullivan and Tami Pardee of Halton Pardee Partners are the listing agents.
Alexander, who often works with writing partner Billy Steinberg, has credits on JoJo’s “Too Little Too Late” and “Nicole Scherzinger’s “Don’t Hold Your Breath.” He also co-wrote and produced Demi Lovato’s Double Platinum single “Give Your Heart a Break.”
He bought the house six years ago for $1.3 million, property records show.
