In Temecula, the massive wrought-iron gate of this residence displays the words “Hacienda de Endar.” That’s the name given by late actor Jack Klugman, who in the 1980s built the equestrian estate.

Behind the gates sits 28 acres holding a massive Spanish mansion, two guesthouses, horse pastures, riding arenas, a five-hole golf course and more. The asking price is $5.8 million.

A long driveway leads up to the main residence, ending in a circular motor court with a fountain. Hand-carved doors open up to a grand two-story entry filled with Spanish accents and a sweeping staircase.

A 74-foot-long galleria connects various living spaces, including a gourmet kitchen, a formal dining room and a living room. Vaulted and beamed ceilings top the living room, which has a floor-to-ceiling brick fireplace.

Five bedrooms and eight bathrooms are spread across 8,902 square feet of interiors. The master suite holds a fireplace, steam shower and two balconies overlooking the expansive property.

Outside, winding paths lead along the manicured grounds to other amenities, including a pool, cabana, tennis court and a dock over the koi pond.

Klugman sold the estate in 1997 in two transactions totaling about $3 million. More recently the property changed hands in 2014 for $4.15 million, records show.

Nikki Yang of Essence Business Group holds the listing.

Klugman, who died in 2012 at the age of 90, starred in film, television and theater productions during his award-winning career. His credits include “12 Angry Men” (1957) and “Cry Terror!” (1958), and he won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his role as Oscar Madison in “The Odd Couple,” in which he starred with Tony Randall as Felix Unger.
