Composer Atli Orvarsson scores $3.69 million for Mar Vista contemporary
Film and television composer Atli Orvarsson has sold his place in the Mar Vista area for $3.69 million.
The contemporary-style home, built in 1948 and recently renovated by architect William Dale Brantley, sits on a raised lot with city-light and mountain views. Features of the 4,558-square-foot house include an open floor plan, clean lines and vaulted ceilings. Walls of floor-to-ceiling glass bring in natural light while extending the living space outdoors.
A living room with vaulted ceilings, a dining room, a modern kitchen and a professional sound studio are among the common areas. The master suite — one of five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms — opens to a private deck overlooking the swimming pool.
Orvarsson bought the house in 2014 for $3.1 million, records show.
David Mossler and Sarah Blanchard of Teles Properties were the listing agents. Annelise Collins of Keller Williams Realty represented the buyer.
The Iceland-born Orvarsson, 46, has film credits that include “Angels & Demons” (2009), “The Eagle” (2011) and “Season of the Witch” (2011). He also has scored such television series as “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago Med.”
