Kids’ books coming from Mariah Carey-Nick Cannon and Bethenny Frankel
Yesterday it was B.J. Novak. Today three more stars are piling on to the picture-books-for-kids bandwagon.
First up: Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey. The couple will publish “Roc and Roe’s Twelve Days of Christmas” with Scholastic in the fall of 2014 -- in time for Christmas, of course. Roc and Roe are the nicknames of their twins, Moroccan and Monroe.
In a release, Scholastic explains “the book follows Roc and Roe as they put their own unique spin on the Christmas carol.” The book is for children ages 3 and up and will be illustrated by A.G. Ford.
Meanwhile, Bethenny Frankel has signed on with Little, Brown for Young Readers to publish her first picture book for young readers. Titled “Cookie Meets Peanut,” the story follows a dog who shops with his owner at “Bark Jacobs” whose world is upended when Peanut, a baby girl, enters the picture. The book will be illustrated by Daniel Roode and published in September.
Frankel, the reality television star and entrepreneur, has had success in publishing. Her name adorns a number of diet books and the 2012 novel “Skinny Dipping.”
Actor and comedian Nick Cannon and multiplantinum recording artist Mariah Carey may not be as familiar with bestseller lists, but wait until we reach the end of 2014.
