Body of Girl, 14, Stolen Within Hours of Burial
Associated Press
AMMON, Ida. — Grave robbers broke into a concrete vault and dug up the body of a 14-year-old girl within hours of her burial, authorities said.
Sara Anne Shick died on Feb. 18 of complications from a muscle disease and was buried Tuesday. That night, someone broke into a shed at the cemetery and used tools to break the seal around a concrete vault containing her casket. The vault, casket and tools were left behind.
A friend of the family reported the grave robbery Wednesday. Investigators had no leads, a Bonneville County sheriff’s deputy said.
