Other Views on Greener Pastures

Initially, I was simply puzzled by the Feb. 21 story titled “California, Here I Go.” As the weeks have gone by, my puzzlement has slowly burned into something approaching rage.

It seems journalistically irresponsible to me that your section would cover the housing values in other parts of the nation when this is unquestionably the best time to buy a home in Southern California in years.

I believe that if you spent half the research time your writer spent on your out-of-state article targeting Southern California you would undoubtedly uncover more golden home buying opportunities here. Not to mention the other advantages of life in Southern California--the weather, beaches, etc. Wouldn’t your readers be better served by an in-depth look at the very real values and opportunities around them? By publishing a story on out-of-state real estate aren’t you perhaps needlessly fueling a real or imagined exodus that could do real damage to the economic health of Southern California?
