Kudos for Builder: Peter M. Ochs of Corona del Mar, chairman and chief executive of Newport Beach’s Fieldstone Co., was named 1990 Builder of the Year by the Building Industry Assn. of Southern California.
The trade association cited Ochs’ achievements in making the company Southern California’s fifth-largest home builder last year, with sales of $340 million, after starting the company only nine years earlier.
Ochs had been president of William Lyon Co., another big Newport Beach home builder, before then.
