Hurricane Odile may be all but forgotten, but parts of the hard-hit Mexican resort area of Los Cabos have taken more than a year to get back on their feet since the September 2014 storm.

Now, two boutique hotels — Hotel El Ganzo and Casa del Mar Golf Resort & Spa — have reopening offers that take 40% off room prices.

Hurricane Odile was one of the most powerful storms to hit the Baja Peninsula. Hotel El Ganzo, with 69 rooms, reopened recently; Casa del Mar Golf Resort & Spa plans to reopen its 50 rooms on Tuesday.

Here’s how the deal works: You stay three or more nights, Sunday through Wednesday or Monday through Thursday, to receive the discount.

On an online check, I found rooms at Hotel El Ganzo for $192 a night from Nov. 15 to 18 (excluding tax and fees). On the same dates, I found rooms for $198 excluding tax and fees at Casa del Mar.

El Ganzo shows undiscounted room prices starting at $320 a night; Casa del Mar shows a best-available rate starting at $330 a night. The savings are good on this deal, particularly if you want a lovely late-season getaway that also helps the economic recovery of Los Cabos.
