Yosemite: Sleep at Tenaya Lodge and help fund park’s conservancy
Give a little, get a little. That’s the idea behind a package at Tenaya Lodge in Yosemite National Park that this month will donate 10% of each visitor’s stay to the nonprofit Yosemite Conservancy. Guests receive a reward too: two guided hikes for the price of one.
The deal: The Yosemite Give Green Package gives nods to a slew of planet-friendly holidays such as National Park Week (April 21-29) and Earth Day (April 22). The package includes deluxe and cottage room stays that start at $215 plus tax per night. Tenaya Lodge sits two miles from the south entrance to the park.
Donations to the conservancy (formerly the Yosemite Fund and the Yosemite Assn.) support conservation and outdoor projects and programs in the park. The lodge also gives visitors a two-fer on guided nature hikes ($15 for two). Those who visit during National Park Week save an additional $20 on entrance fees.
When: The offer is good through April 30 and subject to availability.
Tested: I checked online and found availability for a deluxe room with two double beds for $201 plus tax April 22-24 and $236 for plus tax for April 20-22.
