Holy karaoke! If you want the world to hear you warble, try Sydney’s bridge to test your pipes

If you’ve ever wanted to sing your heart out from the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, plan to go next year.

The popular BridgeClimb adds a karaoke option to the route that takes visitors high above the harbor for stunning views of the Sydney Opera House and the entire Australian city.

Two big plasma TV screens with five microphones will be stationed at the summit of the bridge for those who want to belt out a tune. It’s a 10-minute session that you can share with up to 14 people.

And you can go home with an eight-second video of your performance.

From Feb. 1 to Feb. 21, those celebrating Lunar New Year (Year of the Monkey) will be able to sing along to Chinese, Korean and Japanese songs. (Eight selections were made by Chinese social media users who voted on their favorites.)

Karaoke songs in English will be featured from Feb. 25 to March 9 for the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival.

The karaoke sessions are free with the cost of the climb. Adult tickets cost $228 to $268 weekdays and $243 to $283 weekends.

The BridgeClimb has become one of the city’s big attractions since it opened in 1988. You receive gear and a guide to escort you up to the 440-foot high point on the bridge.

There have been 25 weddings and about 4,000 engagements on the route over the years.
