MGM Resorts sets up hotlines following shooting; airlines waive change fees
The Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas has reopened for business, and a hotline has been set up for those with questions on reservations and other concerns after a shooting Sunday that killed more than 50 people and injured hundreds.
Restaurants and the casino are operating, and guests who fled after the Sunday night shooting have been allowed to return.

The Four Seasons Las Vegas, a hotel within the Mandalay Bay, is open for business. Las Vegas Boulevard reopened between Four Seasons Drive and Russell Road around 2:30 p.m. Monday so motorists could access the hotel’s valet parking.

People traveling to Las Vegas to meet with, or search for, family members and friends can obtain free lodging when they arrive, Sheriff Joe Lombardo of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced at a 3 p.m. news conference.
The sheriff said that rooms are available for those affected “for no charge” at hotels operated by Boyd Gaming and Station Casinos plus the South Point, a total of 22 properties.

Road and show closures
Las Vegas Boulevard remains closed between Tropicana Avenue and Russell Road, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada said.
The commission said it expected the road to remain closed until at least 9 p.m. Monday.
That closed stretch of the world-famous boulevard includes four MGM Resorts hotel/casinos: Mandalay Bay, from which the shots were fired, plus the adjoining Delano, Luxor and Excalibur.
All shows at all of MGM Resorts’ Las Vegas hotel-casinos have been canceled for Monday evening.
That includes several Cirque du Soleil shows along with Blue Man Group and magician David Copperfield.
If you bought your ticket through the MGM Resorts website or call center, your credit card will be credited, an MGM statement said.
Airlines and airport info
McCarran International Airport, just a few blocks east of the site of the massacre, has reopened, said spokeswoman Christine Crews.
“Some airlines may be experiencing delays as a result of aircraft being diverted to other airports,” she said in an email. There is an increased police presence this morning at McCarran, one of the nation’s busiest airports, she said.
Several airlines have announced they are waiving the usual change fees for flights to and from Las Vegas.
They include Air Canada, Allegiant, American, Delta and United. Details are often listed as travel “alerts” or “advisories” on airlines’ homepages.
