Las Vegas: Celine Dion adds show dates; husband steps down as manager
Celine Dion will ring in 2015 in Las Vegas, but without her husband, Rene Angelil, as her manager.
The announcement of additional show dates at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace coincided with Tuesday evening’s 200th performance since her second residency began in 2011.
The 31 newly announced shows will begin Dec. 30 and continue through March. Tickets will be sold beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday. They will be available online or by calling (877) 423-5463.
Dion, the singing sensation from Quebec, performed in the arena, which was purpose-built for her by Caesars Palace, from 2003 to 2007.
Angelil will be replaced by Aldo Giampaolo, an executive with Quebecor, a Canadian media company. Angelil referred to Giampaolo as a close friend in news reports.
Dion, 46, and Angelil, 72, have been romantically linked since she was 19. They married in December 1994. They have three children.
In December, Angelil had a tumor removed from his throat. He also battled cancer in 1999.
