National park photo ops: Wait for the second sunset at Arches in Utah
If you stay for sunset at Delicate Arch at Arches National Park in Moab, Utah, bring a lightweight tripod. And be sure to wait for the “second sunset,” 10 to 30 minutes after the first one — a final burst of magenta light that blends with the blue sky.
Try long exposures with depth of field. Remember to bring a flashlight for the very dark, 3-mile walk back and always pack extra water.
I know it is easier to travel light, with only a few lenses in your bag, but I used a 16-35mm, a 24-70mm, and played with a 70-200mm. How often are you going to be in Utah, make the drive to Moab and then take the 3-mile hike?
