Deal: How to get a free haircut (and do some good) at Pechanga Spa in Temecula
It’s not too late for a short summer haircut — and a free one would be even better. In October, free haircuts and styles will be offered to men and women who have at least 8 inches of hair to donate at Pechanga Spa in Temecula.
The spa inside the Pechanga Resort & Casino makes the offer (as do other salons) in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The idea is simple: You get a new look, and a patient undergoing cancer treatment receives a free wig made from donated human hair.
The deal: Free haircuts at the Pechanga Spa are offered by reservation or to walk-in customers on a first-come, first-served basis. All ages are welcome, provided they meet the long-hair requirements.
Your shorn locks will be donated to the American Cancer Society, which works with hair product company Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths program.
When: The offer is good only during October.
Details: The haircut and style is valued at $75. But know that not all hair is accepted, especially if you bleach or color your hair. Take a look at the Beautiful Lengths do’s and dont’s to make sure you qualify as a donor.
Of course while you’re there, you can spend some time and the money you saved on a massage ($95 for 50 minutes) or a hot stone pedicure ($75 for 50 minutes).
