Celebrate Carnival in the city that owns it: Rio de Janeiro
Explore Rio de Janeiro at the height of the Carnival season on a five-day Brazilian excursion offered by JourneYou.
The tour capitalizes on the city’s over-the-top costumes, parades and street parties that take over before the Catholic season of Lent begins. The celebrations run from Feb. 24 to 28 this year.
Tour participants will attend the Samba School Parade at Rio’s Sambodrome, where dance schools compete against each other throughout the night. This samba stadium is where the main Carnival events are held.
On the tour, you’ll also take a half-day tour of Corcovado Mountain to see Rio’s landmark Christ the Redeemer statue, and take another tour by cable car to Sugarloaf Mountain.
Dates: Tour begins Feb. 24.
Price: From $1,150 per person, double occupancy, if booked by Dec. 30. Availabilty may be limited. Includes accommodations and meals per the itinerary, entrance to the Rio Carnival, transfers and English-speaking guides. International airfare not included.
