$232 rooms during a flash sale at Miami’s classic Fontainebleau
For those who like luxe on the cheap, here’s a weeklong deal on ocean-view rooms and suites at one of Florida’s best-known hotels, the Fontainebleau Miami Beach.
The flash sale is on now through Sunday and offers a third night free, essentially taking a third off the cost of a three-night stay at the Midcentury hotel on the beach.
With the sale, rooms at the ocean-view level and above average $232 a night instead of $349 a night. The good part is you have a long travel window period -- between May 30 and Sept. 6 -- though blackout dates may apply.
If you stay July 5-8, you’ll find an ocean-view room for $206 a night, excluding fees and taxes. (Room cost doesn’t include a $24.95 daily resort fee plus taxes.)
What’s there to do at the hotel?
New summer offerings include watching movies or the Summer Olympic Games by the pool, free pool activities (think over-sized chessboards and boogie boards) and pastry classes for kids and parents, which cost $15 per person.
For adults, there also are samplings -- cocktails, Champagne, wines and even cigars -- on different evenings for $25 per person.
