AmaWaterways introduces European river cruises designed for Spanish speakers
Spanish-speaking passengers will get a boost in 2018 with a new series of European river cruises by AmaWaterways, which include briefings and excursions in English and Spanish.
The family-owned company, celebrating 15 years of river cruising, has 20 ships with itineraries on the Danube, Rhine, Moselle, Main, Rhone and Seine rivers, among others.
Weeklong, Spanish-friendly itineraries will include 10 popular routes, sailing on the Danube (April 20, July 14, Aug. 17) and the Rhine (May 12, Aug. 27, Sept. 10) as well as destinations such as Bordeaux (Aug. 23), Paris and Normandy (Oct. 11) and Christmas markets (Nov. 25 and Dec. 1).
The series is called Sailings With a Latin Touch, and will be hosted by a bilingual cruise manager.
In addition to daily briefings, the tours will include transportation on a bus with a Spanish-speaking guide. There will also be daily cruise programs in Spanish and Spanish menus available during breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Cruise prices vary, but rates for the seven-night Melodies of the Danube (With a Latin Touch) cruise that departs on Aug. 17 from Budapest, Hungary, start at $2,649, double occupancy. The boat will visit Austria. Germany, Hungary and Slovakia.
