Top 10 names for pets: No, ‘Fido’ did not make the list
Fido? Rover? Tiger? Nonsense. Nowadays, dogs and cats are more likely to be named Lily or Charlie or Max or Bella. According to rover.com, a website that connects dog owners with dog sitters, 18 of the 20 most popular dog names in 2014 were also among that year’s top 50 baby names. Perhaps it’s because we think of pets as part of the family.
