Miami’s Mike Pouncey subpoenaed in Aaron Hernandez case, SI says
Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey was served a grand jury subpoena Sunday in connection to an investigation into alleged gun trafficking by former New England tight end Aaron Hernandez, according to a Sports Illustrated report.
Pouncey, a close friend and college teammate of Hernandez at the University of Florida, was served papers at Gillette Stadium less than an hour after the Dolphins lost to the Patriots, the report said.
According to the report, two state police officers approached Pouncey in the hallway between the visitors’ locker room and the Dolphins’ bus, handing him the subpoena. Police see him as a witness who potentially could help in the investigation, the report said.
The twin Pouncey brothers, Mike and Maurkice, a Pro Bowl center for Pittsburgh, were photographed in the off-season wearing hats that read “Free Hernandez.”
