Clippers’ Chris Paul is an All-Star reserve but DeAndre Jordan is not
Doc Rivers’ recruiting efforts didn’t pay off.
The Clippers coach lobbied his fellow Western Conference coaches to vote for DeAndre Jordan as an All-Star reserve, but Jordan was not among the seven players selected Thursday.
The West reserves are Clippers point guard Chris Paul, Portland Trail Blazers power forward LaMarcus Aldridge, Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard and guard James Harden, Dallas Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki and San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker.
There remains one spot on the West to be selected by new Commissioner Adam Silver as a replacement for the injured Kobe Bryant. Oklahoma City Coach Scott Brooks, who will coach the West, can pick Bryant’s replacement in the starting lineup.
Paul is doubtful for the game because of a separated shoulder.
The East reserves will be Miami Heat power forward Chris Bosh, Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert, Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah, Washington Wizards point guard John Wall, Atlanta Hawks power forward Paul Millsap, Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Johnson and Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan.
