Monte Kiffin lands defensive assistant job with the Jacksonville Jaguars
Former USC defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin has been hired as a defensive assistant for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The 76-year-old Kiffin worked with the team last year as an unofficial consultant and assisted with its search for a new defensive coordinator earlier this off-season.
“His wealth of experience and knowledge about the game will be a tremendous asset to our entire coaching staff,” Coach Gus Bradley said of Kiffin.
Kiffin started down the coaching path as a graduate assistant at Nebraska in 1966 and served as the Cornhuskers’ defensive coordinator from 1973-76. He became best known for developing the Tampa 2 defense as defensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1996-2008.
