Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch seemed to confirm speculation that he’s hanging up his cleats for good by tweeting out a photo of, well, hanging cleats during the fourth quarter of Super Bowl 50 on Sunday.

On Monday morning, that confirmation was apparently, uh, confirmed by a text sports radio host Dave Softy Mahler says he received from Lynch’s agent.

Lynch’s agent, Doug Hendrickson, later told The Associated Press that Lynch plans to retire.

Lynch, 29, played just seven regular-season games and in one of the Seahawks’ two playoff games this season because of hamstring and calf issues as well as an abdominal injury.

Last week, Seattle General Manager John Schneider said in two radio interviews that he thought Lynch was leaning toward calling it a career.

Notorious for his dislike of talking to reporters, Lynch hasn’t commented on his tweet.

But his mother, Delisa Lynch, wrote on Twitter, “When one door closes God opens another one even better thank you Jesus!!!!!” And many of members of the Seahawks responded as if their teammate has announced his retirement.
