NASCAR driver Kurt Busch said Tuesday he’ll attempt to drive in the Indianapolis 500 and NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600 on the same day May 25.

If Busch qualifies for the Indy 500, he would become only the fourth driver to do “the double” on the same day and try to drive 1,100 miles in the combined events.

“It’s literally a dream come true,” said Busch, 35, who drives for Stewart-Haas Racing, a team co-owned by three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart.

Stewart did the double twice, in 1999 and 2001. The two others who did so were John Andretti in 1994 and Robby Gordon in 2004.

Busch would first drive in the Indy 500 and then fly to Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C., for the Coke 600, which is run mostly at night.

Busch will attempt the Indy 500 in a car prepared by the Andretti Autosport team, which is owned by former lndyCar Series driver Michael Andretti. Busch had tested in an Indy car with the team last year.

“To go to the famous Brickyard with the iconic Andretti name, it doesn’t get much cooler or better than that,” Busch said in a statement.
