Kirk Cousins has one question for critics after Redskins’ huge comeback win [Video]
Kirk Cousins has something to say.
Hold on, not yet. Let me set the stage.
Cousins went into Sunday’s action as the embattled quarterback of the struggling Washington Redskins. He had thrown for six touchdowns and eight interceptions in leading the team to a 2-4 record, including two straight losses.
Anyhow, things didn’t look much better for the Redskins during much of the first half against Tampa Bay on Sunday. While Cousins didn’t have any turnovers, he was ineffective as his team found itself in a 24-0 hole late in the second quarter.
But Cousins and the Redskins showed signs of life with less than five minutes to go before halftime, with the quarterback carrying the ball eight yards for a touchdown that cut the Bucs’ lead to 24-7.
Then Cousins was brilliant in the second half, leading the Redskins to points on every drive and culminating in a six-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Reed with 24 seconds remaining to lift Washington a 31-30 victory.
Cousins finished the game with 33 completions on 40 attempts for 317 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions for a passer rating of 124.7.
That’s your cue, Kirk.
Pretty sure I know Redskins’ fans answer to that.
