Watch LeBron James tackle man after $75,000 half-court shot
During timeouts and between quarters, NBA entertainment typically consists of dunk teams, dancers and occasionally one fan gets the chance to shoot for cash.
In Miami, in front of a crowd of more than 20,000 people and with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh watching, one lucky man was given the opportunity to take a half-court shot for $75,000.
No pressure.
That man, 50-year-old computer technician Michael Drysch, didn’t flinch as he hit a one-handed hook shot from center court to earn the money, and prompt James to rush the court and tackle him in celebration.
In the video you can see the joy in Drysch’s face after sinking the basket. He lights up again as James, also apparently overwhelmed with excitement, plows into him taking him to the floor.
We’re not so sure we’d be as excited to see a 6-foot-8, 250-pound NBA power forward rushing toward us.
Then again, we’ve never made a half-court shot worth $75,000.
