Fan runs onto court to convince LeBron James to return to Cavs
LeBron James has had a lot of fan interaction this season.
He tackled a fan who made a $75,000 half court shot, he passed the ball back and forth to a fan during a game, urging him to execute a strong chest pass, and now he’s had another type of interaction.
This one was of the unwanted variety.
During a game Wednesday evening between the Miami Heat and the Cleveland Cavaliers, a fan ran onto the court to convince James to return to the Cavs, the team he played for from 2003-2010.
The fan approached James wearing a T-shirt that read: “We Miss You” on the front and “LeBron 2014.”
He apparently then tried to sweet-talk James.
“Well, he said he missed me,” James said, according to The Palm Beach Post. “And come back please. And I didn’t have much time to say much to him, because security got to him.”
James has an option to opt out of his Heat contract during the summer of 2014, and there are rumors that there’s a chance he could end up back with the Cavs.
Note to crazy fans: Running onto the court will probably not help sway him.
You can’t blame them for wanting him back though.
James scored 25 points to help the Heat recover from a 27-point third quarter deficit to win their 24th consecutive game, 98-95.
