UCLA Coach Steve Alford hires former John Calipari assistant
Ed Schilling, the basketball coach at Indianapolis Park Tudor High, will be joining Steve Alford’s staff at UCLA, according to Park Tudor Athletic Director Brad Lennon.
Schilling was coach at Wright State from 1997-2003. He was an assistant on John Calipari’s staffs at Massachusetts and Memphis, as well as an assistant with the New Jersey Nets.
Whether Schilling’s hiring gets UCLA in the mix for forward Trevon Bluiett remains to be seen.
Bluiett will be a senior at Park Tudor in the fall and has received offers from top programs, including Indiana, Louisville, Michigan and Florida.
UCLA has not made as scholarship offer as of yet.
