Donald Trump: ‘I’m for Tom Brady’
Tom Brady is in the NFL's doghouse, but at least he can count on the support of a presidential candidate.
Hours after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell rejected Brady's four-game suspension appeal Tuesday, Donald Trump came to the four-time Super Bowl winner's defense during an interview on CNN.
"I'm for Tom Brady," Trump said. "I know him really well. I think [the NFL has] treated him very rough."
This isn't the first time the real-estate magnate has shown support for Brady during the Deflategate saga.
Brady was suspended in May after an NFL-commissioned investigation by attorney Ted Wells concluded it was "more probable than not" that Brady was "generally aware" of team attendants deflating footballs prior to the AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts on Jan. 18. Brady is set to fight the decision in federal court.
Trump's popularity among Republican presidential hopefuls may be low, but he certainly knows how to win over the die-hard-Tom Brady-fan demographic.
