Watch Baylor QB Bryce Petty go head over heels at Fiesta Bowl
Bryce Petty needs to work on his landing.
Come on. If you’re going to do 360-degree front flip on national TV, like the Baylor quarterback did Wednesday night over Central Florida’s Jacoby Glenn in the second quarter of Fiesta Bowl, then you’ve got to do better than landing on your rear end.
And then there’s his reaction after the 13-yard touchdown run. Petty got to his feet quickly, only just to take a couple of steps backward, point to the sky and let his teammates slap him around a little.
Seriously, dude. Not only did you just pull your heavily favored team to within one, you did so in the most spectacular fashion possible. How about showing a little emotion?
He should take a cue from mom Dena, who looks horrified even while watching the replay from the stands.
Or from former Baylor and current Washington Redskins star quarterback Robert Griffin III, who finds the whole thing hilarious while watching from the sideline.
All that aside, however, what an amazing play. It was just part of a great day for Petty, who rushed for three touchdowns and completed 30 of 47 passes for 356 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.
Unfortunately for him, it was all for naught, as the sixth-ranked Bears were upset by the 15th-ranked Knights, 52-42.
