Angels name Scott Radinsky as their new bullpen coach
The Angels rounded out their on-field staff by hiring Scott Radinsky, a former Simi Valley High standout and major league pitcher, as their bullpen coach on Wednesday.
Radinsky, 47, spent the last three seasons as a minor-league pitching coach in the Dodgers organization, helping triple-A Oklahoma City to a Pacific Coast League-leading 86 wins in 2015. He spent 2014 at double-A Chattanooga and 2013 at rookie-league Ogden, Utah.
The former reliever, who was a high school teammate of former pitcher Jeff Weaver, pitched 11 seasons (1990-93, 1995-2001) in the big leagues with the Chicago White Sox, Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals and Cleveland Indians, compiling a 42-25 record, 3.44 earned-run average and 52 saves in 557 appearances.
Radinsky, who was a lead singer in a punk-rock band during his playing days, will replace Steve Soliz, who moved from bullpen coach to catching and information coach.
Radinsky is the third addition to the staff since Billy Eppler took over as general manager in October, joining new third-base coach Ron Roenicke and new pitching coach Charles Nagy.
