Obama to Cavaliers Coach Tyronn Lue: ‘Tell J.R. and everybody to put on a shirt’
It seems that after the Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA championship, it’s been hard for J.R. Smith to put a shirt on. Let us remind you that it’s been almost a week that Smith has gone shirtless.
Teammates Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert have also caught on this shirtless trend. Maybe a call from the president can help these Cavs put their shirts back on?
During a phone call in which he congratulated Cavaliers Coach Tyronn Lue on winning the franchise’s first NBA championship, President Obama had a suggestion for Smith right before he wrapped up the call.
“Tell J.R. and everybody to put on a shirt, though,” Obama said. “You can’t just be walking around without a shirt for the last -- the whole week. Now, Shumpert’s taking off his shirt. Kyrie is taking off his shirt. C’mon, man. But, I guess if you’re built like that.”
Here’s the full phone conversation.
