Rams sign former Arizona receivers Austin Hill and David Richards to free-agent contracts
The Rams have signed former University of Arizona receivers Austin Hill and David Richards to free-agent contracts, a person with knowledge of the situation said.
Hill, who attended Corona Roosevelt High, had brief free-agent stints with the Oakland Raiders and New York Jets after the 2015 draft before joining the New England Patriots practice squad.
The 6-foot-3, 212-pound Hill is the son of former Rams tight end David Hill and the nephew of CBS2 sportscaster Jim Hill.
Austin Hill caught 81 passes, 11 for touchdowns at Arizona in 2012 but suffered a knee injury that forced him to sit out the 2013 season. In 2014, he had 49 catches, four for touchdowns.
The Raiders signed Hill to a free-agent contract after the 2015 draft. He was released and signed with the Jets, who also released him.
