Metta World Peace launches Metta World Therapy
On Christmas Eve, Metta World Peace launched the first episode of his original Web show “Metta World Therapy” for The NOC, one of YouTube’s “original sports channels.”
The Lakers forward sits down to talk with “kid therapists to talk out big issues.”
In the program’s debut, World Peace admits he’s under a lot of pressure and asks for help. His advisors suggest techniques to alleviate the Lakers forward’s anxiety; one young lady suggested he dig up earthworms during halftime.
In addition to playing in the NBA for 13 years, World Peace is a mental health advocate. After helping the Lakers to their 16th title in 2010 with a crucial three-pointer, World Peace took time to thank his psychiatrist on the national broadcast.
He also auctioned off his championship ring for charity, with some of the proceeds going toward mental health education.
His show on The NOC furthers that goal, but with a light and endearing touch.
