Lakers agree to terms with point guard Kendall Marshall
The Lakers have agreed to terms with free-agent point guard Kendall Marshall, according to an NBA executive with knowledge of the situation.
Marshall was originally drafted by the Phoenix Suns with the 13th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft.
After one season with the Suns, averaging 3.0 points and 3.0 assists a game, he was traded to the Washington Wizards (along with Shannon Brown, Marcin Gortat and Malcolm Lee).
The Wizards subsequently waived Brown, Lee and Marshall -- keeping Gortat.
Marshall recently joined the Delaware 87ers in the NBA Development League, averaging 19.4 points and 9.6 assists in seven appearances.
The Lakers are suddenly devoid of point guards with injuries to Steve Nash (back), Steve Blake (elbow), Jordan Farmar (hamstring) and temporary fill-in Kobe Bryant (knee).
Marshall is 6 feet 4. The North Carolina product is 22 years old.
His deal with the Lakers is non-guaranteed.
