Watch the on-court similarities between Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan
Trying to compare Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan can spark intense debate.
Their career arcs took very different paths, but where they are undeniably close is in ring count. Jordan won six titles with the Chicago Bulls. To date, Bryant has five with the Lakers.
As far as their play on the court, the similarities can be striking -- as illustrated by Youssef Hannoun on YouTube. His clip, posted Thursday, showed Bryant and Jordan making almost identical moves, time after time.
Unearthed by Kelly Dwyer at Yahoo! Sports, the video is second in a series on arguably two of the top players of all time.
Bryant is fourth on the all-time list for points in NBA history at 31,617. Jordan is third (behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone) at 32,292.
Even if Bryant, who is recovering from a torn Achilles’ tendon, plays in just 50 games this coming season (a conservative estimate) -- he would need to average just 13.5 points a game to tie Jordan.
Catching Malone’s 36,928 and Abdul-Jabbar’s 38,387 will take some doing.
