The Lakers will be even more shorthanded for Sunday’s playoff game against San Antonio than they have been, though that doesn’t seem possible.

Metta World Peace will miss Game 4 at Staples Center, along with Steve Nash, Steve Blake, Jodie Meeks and Kobe Bryant. The Lakers trail the Spurs, 3-0. No NBA team has ever come back from such a deficit to win a playoff series.

World Peace had fluid drained from his knee Friday morning and had a rough outing Friday night, going scoreless on six shots as the Lakers suffered the worst playoff home loss in their history, 120-89.

“He’s not going to be able to go,” Lakers Coach Mike D’Antoni said Saturday.

D’Antoni added there was “no way” Nash (hip, hamstring), Meeks (sprained ankle) and Blake (strained hamstring) would play in Game 4.

Earl Clark will take World Peace’s spot in the starting lineup, D’Antoni said. Second-year guards Darius Morris and Andrew Goudelock will also start for the Lakers.
