World Series of Poker invites Kobe Bryant as tribute to Jerry Buss
The World Series of Poker invited Kobe Bryant via Twitter to play in a tribute to the late Jerry Buss.
Poker misses Dr. Buss. Game. Class. We invite @kobebryant to play in tribute. #sharksvsmamba twitter.com/wsop/status/34… — WSOP(@wsop) June 10, 2013
Bryant politely declined:
@wsop Thanks for the invite, means a lot. Doc says no go. I’ll be there in spirit, no bluff. Dr. Buss, best owner ever. — Kobe Bryant (@kobebryant) June 10, 2013
Buss, who passed away Feb. 18, was an avid poker player and WSOP supporter.
Bryant is recovering from surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon.
