On Wednesday, LeBron James gave Fox Sports his top-three NBA players of all time: Michael Jordan, Julius Erving and Larry Bird.

Lakers Hall of Famer Magic Johnson was notably absent from the list, earning a response on Twitter.

LeBron is entitled to his opinion, but I still think that he and I have a similar game and that’s why I LOVE to watch him play! — Earvin Magic Johnson (@MagicJohnson) August 22, 2013

NBA Championship rings are all that matter; Jordan 6, Me 5, Bird 3, LeBron 2 and Dr. J 1. — Earvin Magic Johnson (@MagicJohnson) August 22, 2013

Of course both left out Bill Russell (11 championships), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (six) and even Kobe Bryant (five).

It would appear James’ criteria was not based on number of titles.

With the Miami Heat, James won his second-straight title in June.

Bryant recently gave his all-time five top NBA players, which were Jordan, Johnson, Abdul-Jabbar, Bird and Russell.
