Football: Taft streak coming to an end at USC
Every season since 2000, there has been a Woodland Taft High graduate on USC’s football roster, according to former Taft Coach Matt Kerstetter.
It started with Gregg Guenther in 2000 and will end after Antwaun Woods plays in tonight’s Holiday Bowl for the Trojans.
That’s 16 seasons of representation. Not bad for a City Section school.
Among the players going through USC have been brothers Steve and Malcolm Smith, Brandon Hance, Jamere Holland, Greig Carlson (graduated from Palisades after earlier attending Taft) and DJ Morgan.
