Baseball: Tanner Bibee strikes out 10 in Mission Viejo’s 3-2 win
Junior pitcher Tanner Bibee was throwing heat on Monday. He struck out 10 and threw a complete game in Mission Viejo’s 3-2 win over Laguna Hills.
Zack Manchez had a home run and Joey Garman had the game-winning RBI.
Bellflower defeated Norwalk, 7-0, behind Joseph Brazil, who allowed three hits in seven innings.
San Clemente defeated Capistrano Valley, 10-3. Spencer Bramwell hit a grand slam.
Trabuco Hills defeated Aliso Niguel, 5-4.
Palisades defeated Hamilton, 12-3, in the Western League. Harrison Hart had a home run and three RBIs.
Jakob Gonzalez of La Mirada threw a no-hitter in a 4-0 win over Glenn.
Quartz Hill defeated Antelope Valley, 13-3, in the Golden League. Blake Borror went three for three; Tyler Vargas had two hits and three RBIs, and Ethan Avant had three RBIs for Quartz Hill.
Glendora defeated Diamond Bar, 16-2, in the Palomares League. Bryce Wooldridge led a 17-hit attack with four hits.
Gahr got a walk-off sacrifice fly in the seventh from freshman JJ Cruz to defeat Palos Verdes, 2-1, in the Redondo tournament. Josh Haley struck out seven in five innings.
Crescenta Valley improved to 4-0 in the Pacific League with a 5-0 win over Hoover. Jaimy Blank threw a blank, striking out six and giving up two hits. Ryan Lynch had two doubles.
