Baseball: Left-hander Chris Murphy of Granada Hills looks ready for big season
Granada Hills left-handers shows off 92 mph fastball
Two weeks before he officially starts the baseball season, left-hander Chris Murphy of Granada Hills showed off a 92 mph fastball on Sunday in a winter game against Loyola.
He threw four shutout innings, striking out six, walking four and giving up one hit.
The key for Murphy is being able to throw strikes. In the tough West Valley League, walks can get you beat. A University of San Diego signee, Murphy was able to make tough pitches on Sunday to escape trouble.
He’s the hardest thrower in the City Section.
