Here are five takeaways from the Clippers’ 94-84 win over the Lakers on Christmas Day.
1) The Clippers’ win streak continues
The Clippers extended their winning streak over the Lakers to eight games. They entered Friday’s game having won seven straight over the Lakers by an average margin of 24.6 points. The Clippers led by as much as 28 points, but the Lakers opened the fourth quarter with a 25-4 run to cut their deficit to seven points, 89-82, with four minutes left. The Clippers pulled off the win down the stretch, but not by as large of a margin as they had in recent games.
2) Kobe Bryant’s last Christmas as a Laker
Bryant played in his 16th and final Christmas game. The Lakers’ superstar took the mic before tipoff and thanked the fans, and he received several raucous “Ko-be, Ko-be” chants throughout the game. He finished with 12 points on four-for-10 shooting, falling short of his average over the last five games of 23.8 points on 46.2% shooting.
3) Clippers snap losing streak
The Clippers entered Friday’s game having lost three in a row to San Antonio, Houston and Oklahoma City. Friday’s win bumped them from fifth to fourth place in the Western Conference with a record of 17-13.
4) Chris Paul is rolling
The Clippers’ point guard had another big game for the Clippers, finishing with a team-high 23 points on 11-for-19 shooting, six assists and five rebounds. He’s scored 20 or more points in four of the team’s last five games, including a 32-point performance on 11-for-19 shooting against Oklahoma City on Dec. 21. He’s averaging 17.7 points and 8.9 assists this season.

5) On the road again
After recently completing a five-game trip, during which they won four games, the Clippers will once again hit the road. They play four consecutive road games against Utah, Washington, Charlotte and New Orleans before the new year. The Clippers are 7-7 on the road so far this season.
