Visually impaired children receive life lessons through golf
The First Tee of Orange County, a local nonprofit that touts its mission as providing “young people with character-building and life-skills lessons using golf as the platform,” visited the Blind Children’s Learning Center in Santa Ana on June 10.
Ten volunteer coaches with the group taught nearly 65 visually impaired preschool students how to golf using plastic golf clubs, tennis balls and a modified putting green, as well as how to show respect and sportsmanship, a news release said.
