‘A very intentional act:’ Man is killed after reportedly stepping in front of train
Glendale police are trying to identify a man who reportedly stepped in front of a train on Monday.
Authorities responded to the fatality near the intersection of San Fernando Road and Doran Street around noon after a man stepped in front of an Amtrak passenger train, according to Glendale Police Sgt. Robert William. He added that officers found the man’s body on the tracks.
William said the train’s passengers did not see the incident, but witnesses nearby did.
“According to their statements, it appears that it was a very intentional act by the pedestrian to get in front of the train,” William said.

At 2 p.m., officers were waiting for employees from county’s coroner office to arrive on the scene.
“We can’t really touch him at this time or go through his clothes … We have to wait for the coroner’s office to get here first and examine the body,” William said. “Hopefully, we’ll be able to identify him.”
Train traffic was delayed as officers processed the scene.
