CYPRESS — Sophomore Casey Gomez scored 29 points to pace the Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference road game Friday night.

Gomez made 10 of 19 field-goal attempts, three of six three-point tries, and made all six of her foul shots to help OCC improve to 16-6, 3-0 in conference. She added six rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Sophomore Simone Ibbotson had 18 points and seven rebounds for OCC.

Cypress fell to 14-8, 2-1.

CYPRESS — Eric Williams led five Pirates who scored in double figures with 18, but the host Chargers made 12 three-pointers in the Orange Empire Conference game Friday.

OCC fell to 8-14, 1-2 in conference, while Cypress is now 12-1, 2-1.
